Make a favicon without a design tool: type a few letters, pick an emoji, or choose an icon from eight open-source collections, then style the background and shape. You get the full package (ICO, PNG, SVG, Apple and Android icons, manifest) built in your browser.
Under Artwork, choose Letters, Emoji or Icon.
Type one to three letters and pick a Font and Weight, type or pick an emoji (Browse all emoji opens the full list), or search for an icon such as rocket or cloud and click it.
In Foreground, set the Color and Size; in Icon style, choose the Background, Shape, Corner radius and Padding.
Fill in Site details and the Output sizes, checking the light and dark tab previews and the Home screen preview.
Click Download package (ZIP), upload the files to your site, and copy the tags from Paste into <head> into your page.

Lucide, Tabler, Material Design, Phosphor, Remix Icon, Carbon, Heroicons and Font Awesome Brands. Lucide loads first; while searching, Search all 8 collections downloads the rest once (about 13 MB).

Emoji and letters are drawn with your device's fonts, so the PNG and ICO files show your system's emoji style. favicon.svg keeps them as text, so each visitor's browser draws them with its own fonts.
One to three works best; the field accepts up to four characters. Longer text shrinks to fit the icon, and Chinese or Japanese characters work too.
Yes, set Background to None. The Apple touch icon and maskable icon still get a white square, because home screens do not show transparency.
