    How to use Create ZIP

Pack files and whole folders into a ZIP archive in your browser. Folder structure is kept, system files like .DS_Store are skipped, and already-compressed files such as JPG or MP4 are stored as they are to save time.

    1. 1

Drag files or folders onto the page, or click Choose files or Choose folder. You can also paste files with Ctrl+V.

    2. 2

Check the file tree and remove anything you don't want with the × next to it.

    3. 3

Under Settings, enter the Archive name and pick a Compression level: None, Fast, Normal or Maximum.

    4. 4

Click Create ZIP, then download the finished archive.

    Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The archive is built in your browser, and your files never leave your device.

Can I put a password on the ZIP?

No, this tool creates unencrypted ZIP files. To protect the contents, encrypt the finished ZIP with AES Encrypt & Decrypt.

Why is my ZIP hardly smaller than the original files?

Photos, videos, PDFs and other archives are already compressed, so zipping them again gains almost nothing. With Don't recompress JPG, MP4, ZIP… on, they are stored as-is to save time.

    Is there a size limit?

A single file larger than 4 GB cannot go into a ZIP made in the browser. Beyond that, the total size depends on your device's memory and disk space.

Are empty folders and hidden system files included?

Empty folders are kept. Skip system files leaves out .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, desktop.ini and __MACOSX folders; turn it off if you need them.
