How to use Meta Tag Generator

Fill in a page's title, description, and sharing image to get ready-to-paste HTML for the <head>: SEO, Open Graph, X (Twitter) card, robots, theme color, and favicon tags. Live previews show how the page appears on Google, Facebook / LinkedIn, X, and Slack / Discord.

    1. 1

Enter the Title, Description, Canonical URL, and Site name under Page.

    2. 2

Under Social sharing, add the Image URL, its alt text, the type, and the X card style.

    3. 3

Set Robots, Theme color, and other options under Technical.

    4. 4

Check the Previews tabs and the length hints, then copy the HTML for <head>.

    Frequently asked questions

How long should the title and description be?

Google usually cuts titles around 600 px (about 60 characters) and descriptions around 160 characters. The tool shows the count and warns when text is too short or too long.

Why doesn't my image show in the preview?

The preview never loads the image URL you enter. To see an image, use Choose a local image for the preview; it is only shown on this page.

What image size works best for Open Graph?

Use an absolute URL to an image about 1200 × 630 px. Relative paths don't work for og:image.

Does it add article tags like published time and author?

Yes. When Type is article, fields for Published and Author appear and the matching article: tags are added.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The tags and previews are generated in your browser.
