    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between equal payments and equal principal?

Equal payments (等额本息) keep the monthly payment the same, so early payments are mostly interest. Equal principal (等额本金) repays principal evenly, so payments start higher, fall each month and cost less interest overall.

Is the loan result what my bank will charge?

It is a standard estimate from the amount, annual rate and term, with a yearly or monthly Amortization schedule. Lenders may add fees or calculate interest differently, so check their offer.

    Which BMI categories are used?

The WHO adult categories, with a note on the lower cut-offs suggested for Asian populations and China's national standard. BMI is a screening number, not a diagnosis; it ignores muscle mass, age, sex and body shape.

Can it write Roman numerals above 3,999?

Yes, up to 3,999,999. Thousands use an overline (vinculum), which you type as parentheses: (IV) = 4,000. There is no Roman numeral for zero.

    Which currency does it use?

None in particular. Amounts are plain numbers with two decimals, so they work with any currency.

Can I link straight to one calculator?

Yes. The address ends with the calculator's name, such as #loan or #bmi, and the last one you used is remembered on this device.
