How to use SVG to PDF

Turn SVG files into PDFs that stay vector: shapes, gradients and text remain sharp at any zoom, and text stays selectable. Combine several SVGs into one multi-page PDF or make one PDF each, on pages fitted to the drawing or on A4, Letter, A3 or Legal.

    1. 1

Drop SVG or SVGZ files on the page, or paste SVG code and click Add SVG.

    2. 2

Drag the cards to set the page order; use Edit code on a card to fix its markup.

    3. 3

Under Page size, choose Fit to SVG or a paper size. For paper, set Orientation and Scale to fit the page; set the Margin in millimeters.

    4. 4

Under Output, choose One PDF or Separate PDFs and type a File name.

    5. 5

Click Create PDF, then Download or Open; separate PDFs come as Download all (ZIP).

    Frequently asked questions

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is built in your browser with jsPDF and svg2pdf.js, and your files never leave your device.

Is the PDF vector or a flattened image?

Vector. Paths, gradients and text are written as PDF drawing commands, so they stay sharp at any zoom and the text can be selected.

Why is my Chinese or Japanese text missing?

Text is set in the standard PDF fonts (Helvetica, Times, Courier), which have no CJK characters, and other fonts are substituted. Convert text to outlines in your design tool first, or use SVG to PNG for an image.

How big is a Fit to SVG page?

The page matches the SVG's own size, at 96 px per inch, plus the margin on each side. Each SVG can get its own page size.

What changes when Scale to fit the page is off?

Each SVG is placed at its actual size, centered on the page, and only shrunk if it doesn't fit inside the margins.

Is anything in the SVG left out?

Scripts, event handlers and embedded HTML (foreignObject) are removed, and files the SVG links to on the web are not loaded.
