How to use QR & Barcode Scanner

Read QR codes and barcodes from images or your camera, with no app to install. It decodes QR, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417 codes plus EAN, UPC, Code 128 and other 1D barcodes, finds several codes in one image, and lays out Wi-Fi, contact and link contents clearly.

    1. 1

      Choose Image or Camera.

    2. 2

For images, drop or choose files, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V; for the camera, click Start camera and point it at the code.

    3. 3

If nothing is found, open Reading options and turn on Try harder, Rotated and tilted codes or Inverted codes.

    4. 4

Copy the result, click Open link after checking the address, copy a Wi-Fi password, or Save contact (.vcf).

    Frequently asked questions

Are my images or camera video uploaded?

No. Images and video frames are decoded on your device, and the camera feed is never recorded or sent anywhere.

    Why won't the camera start?

The browser needs camera permission and a secure (https) page, and another app may be using the camera. The tool shows step-by-step fixes for Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, macOS and Windows.

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Yes. Paste it with Ctrl+V or ⌘V, or drop the image file. Several images and several codes per image are fine.

Is it safe to open the link in a QR code?

Links are never opened automatically. Open link asks you to confirm first, so check the address, since a code can point anywhere.

What can I do if no code is found?

Use a sharper or larger image, crop closer to the code, or turn on Try harder, which is slower but finds small, blurry or low-contrast codes.

    Is my scan history saved?

Only while the page is open. Nothing is stored or sent.
