Blur the background of a photo while the person, pet or object stays sharp, similar to a portrait lens. An AI model running on your device finds the subject, so your photos are never uploaded.
Drop one or more photos on the page, or paste one with Ctrl+V.
Wait for Subject detection to finish. On first use the AI model (about 100 MB) is downloaded once and then cached by your browser.
Set Blur and Edge softness, and turn on Lens look if the blur should grow with distance from the subject.
Drag the divider in the preview to compare before and after, then click Apply and download, or Apply to N images for a batch.
No. Subject detection and blurring run in your browser. Only the model files are downloaded, once; your photos stay on your device.
The first run downloads the AI model, about 100 MB. After that it loads from the browser cache, and moving the sliders never reruns detection for a photo that was already analyzed.
Only to download the model the first time. Later runs use the cached copy unless you clear your browser data.
Raise Edge softness so the subject's outline blends into the blurred background. Detection works best on photos with one clear main subject; busy scenes with overlapping objects may be partly missed.
Background Removal makes the background transparent so you can replace it. Blur Background keeps the original background and only softens it.
An error appears with a Try again button. If it keeps failing, close other tabs and retry, or use a recent desktop browser; the model needs a fair amount of memory.
