Drop photos to check and clean
See what your photos reveal, then remove it. Nothing is uploaded.
See what your photos reveal before you share them, such as GPS location, camera and serial number, dates and author, then remove it. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files are cleaned without re-encoding, so the image itself stays exactly the same.
Drop your photos on the page, or paste one with Ctrl+V.
Check each card: the GPS location, camera, date taken and other details are listed, and Show all N fields opens the full list.
Under Options, decide on Keep color profile. If some photos are rotated by EXIF, choose Keep orientation tag, Rotate pixels or Remove it.
Click Remove metadata and download, or Remove metadata from N images for a batch. Several files arrive in one ZIP.
Read the result on each card: what was removed, and whether anything is still present.
No. Metadata is read and removed in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server.
Not for JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. The image data is copied byte for byte and only the metadata blocks are dropped, so animated GIF and WebP files stay animated.
HEIC and AVIF can't be cleaned without decoding, so they are re-encoded as high-quality JPG. Other formats such as BMP or TIFF are saved as PNG.
Phones often store the rotation in EXIF, and Remove it deletes that too. Choose Keep orientation tag to keep only the rotation, or Rotate pixels to turn the image itself (this re-encodes it).
Usually, yes. It keeps colors accurate and contains nothing about you or where the photo was taken.
After cleaning, each file is read again. A green Now: line means no EXIF and no GPS remain; anything still present is listed by name.
