How to use Change Audio Speed

Speed audio up or slow it down from 0.5× to 3× while keeping voices at their natural pitch, or switch to tape mode for the chipmunk effect. Set an exact rate or a target length, preview it live, and process several files at once.

    1. 1

Drop one or more audio files on the page.

    2. 2

Drag the Speed slider, click a preset (0.75× to 2×), type an Exact speed, or enter a Target length.

    3. 3

Under Pitch, choose Keep pitch or Tape (chipmunk), and press play to preview.

    4. 4

Pick the output Format and Bitrate, click Change speed, then Download.

    Frequently asked questions

    How does Keep pitch work?

The audio is time-stretched, so the speed changes but the pitch does not. It sounds natural for speech; with music, large changes can add slight artifacts.

Can I make a file fit an exact length?

Yes. Type the length you want in Target length, for example 0:30, and the speed is set to match.

    What is the speed range?

0.5× to 3×. For videos, use Change Video Speed, which goes from 0.1× to 8×.

    Which formats can I save?

MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV and FLAC, with a bitrate choice for the lossy formats.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. The speed change is calculated in your browser.
