    How to use Rotate Video

Turn a sideways or upside-down video 90° right, 90° left or 180°. MP4 and MOV can be rotated instantly and losslessly with a rotation flag; Re-encode turns the frames themselves so the video plays upright everywhere.

    1. 1

Drop a video on the page.

    2. 2

Pick 90° right, 180° or 90° left; the preview turns with your choice.

    3. 3

Choose the output Format and a Method: Fast or Re-encode.

    4. 4

      Click Rotate video, then Download.

    Frequently asked questions

    Fast or Re-encode?

Fast only writes a rotation flag, so it is instant and lossless. Phones, browsers, VLC and most editors respect it; a few old players and some upload sites ignore it. Re-encode turns the actual frames, takes longer and costs a tiny bit of quality.

    Why is Fast greyed out?

WebM and MKV cannot store a rotation flag. Choose MP4 or MOV for the instant lossless method.

How do I mirror a video instead?

Rotating does not mirror. Use Flip Video for a left-right or top-bottom mirror image.

    Is my video uploaded?

No. Rotation runs in your browser and the file stays on your device.
