Open a subtitle file
Convert subtitles between SRT, WebVTT and plain text, and fix the timing along the way: shift every cue, convert between 23.976, 24 and 25 fps, renumber, strip formatting and merge duplicates. A validation report flags broken or overlapping cues.
Paste subtitle text, open a subtitle file (SRT, VTT or ASS), or click Try a sample.
Under Output, pick SRT, WebVTT or Plain text.
Optionally set a Shift in milliseconds, choose a Frame-rate conversion, and turn on Renumber cues, Remove formatting tags or Merge duplicates.
Check the Validation list, then copy the result or click Download.

That usually means a frame-rate mismatch, for example a 23.976 fps film shown at 25 fps. Choose the matching Frame-rate conversion. A constant delay is fixed with Shift instead.
The file is not UTF-8. Choose the right Text encoding, such as GBK, Big5, Shift_JIS or Windows-1252.
Only the dialogue, one cue per line, without numbers, timings or tags. Handy as a transcript.
It lists unreadable blocks, invalid or negative times, cues that end before they start, empty cues, and cues that overlap or are out of order, with line numbers.
